Choices for Our Futures

This tri annually funded program by the Queensland department of Communities supports Choice to provide early intervention and crime prevention strategies for the benefit of 10-17 year olds. The purpose of the program is to reduce the time spent by the cohort in the Juvenile Justice system and to increase their appeal and participation in education, learning, training and employment.

Get Set for Work

Twenty 10 Twenty

The Townsville based project is a continuation of the annually funded DEEDI Get Set for Work Project and works with 15-17 year olds. Our primary focus includes introducing strategies that encourage the target group to re-engage into the education system and/or transition into further training or employment.

The Cairns project is a continuation of the annually funded DEEDI Get Set for Work Project and works with 15-17 year olds. Our primary focus includes introducing strategies that encourage the target group to re-engage into the education system and/or transition into further training or employment.

Choice Time

This Cairns based project provides experiences in volunteer work, accredited training, paid employment via Work Placements, individual pathway planning to assist with obtaining sustained employment, learning and life skills training. Some project participants will undertake paid work placements at the Cairns Regional Council in the areas of bike path construction, walking track maintenance and repair, revegetation and works in parks and gardens.

Green Choice Project

The Green Choice Project is a project approved and funded as part of Round 2 of the Australian Government's Jobs Fund — Local Jobs. The project provides outdoor green related environmental employment for unemployed youth, displaced workers and Indigenous jobseekers. This project is heavily supported by the Cairns Regional Council through opportunities to work on their marquee environmental sites, the Cattana Wetlands at Smithfield and the Red Arrow Walking Track in Edge Hill.
